Need To Be Notarized But Don't Have Acceptable Identification in Los Angeles? We Can Help You!

If you need to get a document that you will be signing notarized, but you do not have an acceptable identification for the State of California, Hollywood Notary.Net might have a solution for you!

Normally, you must have an identification from the State of California, like a Driver License or an Identification Card. A U.S. Passport or Foreign Passport is also acceptable (Foreign Passports Must Be Stamped By the U.S Dept. of Homeland Security to be considered valid for notarizing). You can also use an ID or Driver License from another U.S. State. A Driver License from Mexico or Canada is also perfectly acceptable.

For all acceptable identification, the ID must either unexpired or have been issued within the past 5 years.

One common form do identification that is carried by Mexican citizens in the U.S. but is not acceptable for notarization is the Consular Matricula Card.

If you do not have acceptable identification, you can still be notarized if you can get 2 credible witnesses who have acceptable identification to come with you to your notary appointment. The witnesses must know you personally. The witnesses cannot be named in the document being notarized. The witnesses must not have a financial interest ini the documents being notarized. The witnesses must possess unexpired acceptable identification, as outlined above (if the identification I is expired, it must have been issued within the last 5 years to be acceptable for notarization).

One convenient way to notarize someone who has credible witnesses is to use the Starbucks Special, because there will be at least 4 people there- the Notary Public, and the person being notarized, and 2 credible witnesses.  Starbucks is a nice, convenient,  recognizable  place for people to congregate for business, while still being in a comfortable place where there are refreshments and, in most locations, a restroom!

If you would like to schedule an appointment with me to notarize your important documents, please call David at (323)393-5822.
