If you have an FBI Criminal Background Check and you need to get an Apostille for it, the only place allowed by law to issue the Apostille is the U.S. Department of State in Washington D.C. The California Secretary of State will no longer issue Apostilles for notarized statements attached to FBI Criminal Background Checks.
